A marvellous opportunity for women travellers everywhere:
What is THE TRANS-IBERIAN EXPRESS?
The Trans-Iberian Express is an initiative to create Spain's first cross-country cycle touring route.
For five weeks this week, a group of cyclists crossed Spain and documented the ride, checking out routes, hotels and restaurants while enjoying the scenery, as well as the depth and breadth of Spanish history.
Now that the ride is over, the next phase begins: writing up all those notes to create an online guidebook that allows other cyclists to follow.
We'll finish putting up the pages of the online guidebook during the summer of 2008; in the meantime, you can see information on the route on this blog. If you'd like more information on the project, feel free to write me at trans.iberian /at/ yahoo /dot/ com.

HELLLLLLOOOOOOO?
A disused mining cart on the Vía Verde de la Sierra de la Demanda
Originally perceived as a blog to help cycle tourists manage and organize trips around spain, this blog has gone seriously off the rails in the past year, as its creator has entered into the full throes of a midlife crisis, invested in a Specialized Ruby, and is learning, one fall at a time, how to try to be good at a sport and not die in the process. Bear with me. Both cycling and writer are works in process, and the result ain't always pretty.
